We’ve talked about Porter Robinson and Madeon’s new collaborative track ‘Shelter’ before. And here it is again, remixed by DeModa. This remix loses the upbeat and fun vibe of the original song. Instead it’s much more chill with a tropical vibe that is reminiscent of Kygo. The song is stripped of its highly produced energetic beats and begins with a peaceful vibe. As the chorus comes, the remix transcends into a tropical spin. However, what’s most interesting about this remix is near the end. It changes to a more funk sound with guitars added to the song.

It’s an interesting remix to Shelter. The change to the more guitar focused end is definitely different and not something you would hear in a Porter Robinson or a Madeon song. What I particularly like about this remix is the creativity behind it. It’s not the usual remixes you hear with just catchy beats added to it to create a summer-y vibe. The chill spin during most of the song isn’t a grand change, and that’s what makes it work. It’s what makes the guitar ending a nice surprise that creeps up onto you.

Though not something you would listen to multiple times, this remix is definitely creative and an interesting one that can be appreciated for its efforts.

Loved the original so much that I had to give it a spin. Hope you enjoy!
