WATCH: GWEN STEFANI IS BACK WITH 'MISERY' AFTER 10 YEARS

I lost count of how many times Gwen Stefani changed outfits, but each one of them was perfect.

A decade later and the iconic female pop star hasn’t lost her touch. Gwen Stefani does not fail to deliver in her latest music video to the track Misery.

Despite its melancholic title, Misery actually heralds the start of a potential romance. The single is the opening track of Stefani’s latest album This Is What Truth Feels Like, which debuted 25 March. The album is Stefani’s first LP since The Sweet Escape released in 2006.

The music video is an artsy mix of 1960s fashion and 2000s pop, with numerous allusions to kickass women including Marilyn Monroe, Madonna and Audrey Hepburn.

Never one to shy away from quirkiness, Stefani is featured in multiple eccentric outfits. One second she’s wearing a Frida Kahlo flower crown, the next she’s donned a voluminous striped skirt. The music video ends with Stefani swimming in red tulle and dry ice. But regardless of how crazy each outfit was, I loved them ALL.

The video also features three beautifully choreographed dancers. At first I was extremely confused about why they were there, but once I got past that, I found their presence just made the video even more perfect.

Not only is this visually pleasing, but the song is super catchy. An upbeat, synth-assisted tune complements Stefani’s layered vocals. Misery harks back to her original sound, incorporating elements of Sweet Escape.

This Is What Truth Feels Like is available now on iTunes.
