Watch: 'The Divergent Series: Allegiant' Teaser Trailer goes "Beyond the Wall"

[follow_me] Summit Entertainment and Lionsgate have released the teaser trailer for 'The Divergent Series: Allegiant,' the first chapter of a two-movie conclusion.

The stakes are huge for Tris (Shailene Woodley) and co.as they venture beyond the wall that surrounds Chicago into unknown territory. Who knows what awaits them in this desert wasteland?

But more importantly, who cares?

As different as dystopian young-adult stories are, I can't help but see escaping Chicago in Woodley's new film as a similar but less interesting journey into the scorch in 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials.' 

Now I'm as open minded as they come, but after two movies, 'The Divergent Series' has done little beyond ride off the coat tails of the immensely successful 'The Hunger Games' series. It doesn't help that the series won't end until 2017 with 'The Divergent Series: Ascendant,' because two part finales are all the rage right now apparently.

For fans, more of the same is good, but for more ambivalent spectators like myself, familiarity is just another reason not to bother with this new instalment.
