WATCH: TRANSFORMERS 5 IS CALLED 'TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT' IN ANNOUNCEMENT TEASER
Wait what?
No explosions?
Just Optimus' face?
Is this really a Transformers movie?
Is this really a Michael Bay movie?
Like it or not, Transformers: The Last Knight is a reality with Michael Bay back as director. Mark Wahlberg will be reprising his role as Cade Yeager from Age of Extinction (even though his story was pretty shitty in the movie), along with Isabela Moner and Jerrod Carmichael, both have yet to make an impression in Hollywood thus far. It seems like they’ve scrapped Cade’s daughter from the movie and her strange (at some point underage) relationship with her racecar driver boyfriend. Thank God for that.
All we know about the movie is from the teaser below. Optimus's face stares back at us and if my instincts are correct, he is the 'Last Knight'.
Production begins in June this year and film will be released June 23rd, 2017. Hopefully this is much better than the 3-hour snooze fest that was Age of Extinction. Of course, that terrible movie mounted over $1 billion dollars ($1.104 billion to be exact).
If TF5 gets marketing similar to Transformers 4, then I wouldn't be surprised if Michael Bay's blockbuster turns out to be one of the biggest movies of 2017.
