Music: 'Empire' Shares New Tracks from Season 2; Highlights Parties and Money

[follow_me]Columbia Records have released two songs off the upcoming 'Empire' Soundtrack for Season 2 with features from Pitbull, Jussie Smollett and Yazz.

Season 1 of 'Empire' had absolutely monster ratings that climbed over the course of its 12 episodes. We can't predict killer viewership, but we can say that if these songs are any indication, Season 2 won't be lacking in quality beats.

'No Doubt About it' is an upbeat party anthem that features Jussie Smollett (Jamal Lyon) and a collaboration from Pitbull. Ne-Yo also has a writing credit on the song. On the other hand, 'Ain't About the Money' features Smollett and Yazz (Hakeem Lyon) is a slower R&B track that hits its stride when Yazz hops on for a couple verses.

It must be said that whilst these songs can seem underwhelming at first, watching 'Empire's' music in context with how it appears in the show is absolutely vital. So if you haven't seen Season 1, watch it - it's fantastic television.

These tracks raise themes of power and money in ways that we've all come to love in 'Empire,' and I absolutely can't wait to see what Season 2 has in store for us come September 23.
