FILM: 'The Karate Kid's' Daniel is Actually the Bully of the Story in New Video
J. Matthew Turner's 'The Karate Kid: Daniel is the Real Bully' claims Daniel is the villain and not the hero. Turner's video essay hilariously breaks down the classic 1984 film, asserting that "The Karate Kid is the story of Daniel, a violent sociopath who moves to a California town and begins tormenting a local boy and his friends."
First things first, I will always be Team Daniel, but the video raises great points of a young boy with anger issues and impulsive behaviour. Then again all teenagers are like this.
In Turner's rendition, Johnny is tries to de-escalate violence and defend his title, Daniel is a sucker-punching psycho who tries to zero in on Johnny's territory and Miyagi is a "demon sorcerer."
If you've seen 'The Karate Kid' than this is a lovely nod to your childhood, and you haven't seen it, GO WATCH IT - You haven't lived yet.

This isn't the first time someone claimed Johnny Lawrence was a hero. 'How I Met Your Mother's' Barney Stinson had a couple thoughts of his own.
