LISTEN: NYLO FINALLY RELEASES BREAKUP SONG ‘BLAME IT ON MY X’
After a year, Chicago-based Nylo has dropped a brand spankin' new tune called Blame It On My X.
Continuing her trend in slower songs, Blame It On My X is a heartfelt, kind-of-indie-pop, kind-of-RnB track that basically has her blame her love problems on her ex. Amazing.
The super chill, anti-love anthem feels like it’s on some Needed Me level of loud, heartwrenching singing.
The song begins with a winding, dramatic beat that slowly allows Nylo’s smooth voice singing tales of commitment woes to kick in. The chorus opens with a short, but powerful 80s synth-y drum, which continues incrementally through, adding to the slightly intense vibes of the song. The bridge of the song sounds a bit like old school The Weeknd, with warped samples, vocals and harmonies.
To be short, the song is great.
I really hope the next time the world is blessed by tunes from Nylo, it won’t be in a year.
