Watch: 'The Angry Birds Movie' Trailer Brings Game to the Big Screen

Sony Pictures have released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming 'The Angry Birds Movie,' due out in May 2016.

Video game adaptations get a bad rap and that's because they are always, I repeat ALWAYS - terrible. And so the logical thing would be for Sony to come in and adapt not just any game, but a mobile game for the big screen.

The story appears fairly simple in 'The Angry Birds Movie.' A group of birds live on an island until one day, green pigs arrive. Red (Jason Sudeikis) belongs in anger management, Chuck (Josh Gad) is the yellow bird that's fast, and Bomb (Danny McBride)  explodes. So yeah, characterisation is fairly limited at this point.

My interest for this movie remains fairly low at this point, and the trailer hasn't done much to curb my enthusiasm. The animation is exceptionally nice in giving 'The Angry Birds Movie' its unique mix of 3D and static backgrounds. There was one gag at the end that I laughed at, so either I don't have a sense of humour or kids will like this a lot more than I will.
