FILM: 'Assassin's Creed' - First Look at Michael Fassbender Fails to Impress
YAHOO! has an exclusive image of Michael Fassbender donning the 'Assassin's Creed' gear, but it fails to send excitement rippling through my spine.
Now I know, a first look is just that - an image taken out of context from a movie we've heard and seen nothing from. But as a fan and friends of fans who love the games, there's nothing much to look at here.
The costume is a darker kind that we're not used to, surely fitted to come as realistic in the world Fassbender wishes to create. His arms seem oddly rigid and make the form unnerving, but as a first look it certainly prompts discussion.
Nevertheless, Fassbender plays Callum Lynch, an entirely new character thrust into the 'Assassin's Creed' world.
Hope is high, but with game adaptations failing one after another, 'Hitman: Agent 47' being the most recent example, fans remain fearful of the final result.
However, in expanding the 'Assassin's Creed' verse rather than taking an old story and adapting it, Justin Kurzel gives fans and newcomers a reason to watch this movie.
'Assassin's Creed' is scheduled to be released December 21st, 2016.
